Bourton Vale Cricket Club have stormed into the Cheltenham Premier T20 Final after a thrilling four-wicket victory over Hatherley Hurricanes in their semi-final clash.
In front of an enthusiastic crowd, Will Faulkner was the star with the ball, claiming an impressive 4-19 as Hatherley were dismissed for 133 in 18.4 overs. Faulkner’s disciplined spell turned the momentum firmly in Vale’s favour after a brisk opening partnership from the Hurricanes.
Chasing 134 for victory, openers Musa Twala (37) and Arthur Hanson (33) laid a solid foundation, putting on 64 runs inside the first seven overs. Despite a few nervous moments in the middle order, Bourton held their nerve to cross the line with just five balls to spare, sparking jubilant celebrations among players and travelling supporters alike.
The win seals Bourton Vale’s place in the final of the competition, which will be held on Friday, 18 July at Cheltenham College as part of the Cheltenham Cricket Festival. They now await the winner of Tuesday’s playoff between Hatherley Hurricanes and Tewkesbury Royals to discover who they will face in the showpiece.
The club have announced that coach transport will be provided for supporters wishing to attend finals night, departing from BVCC at 4.30pm and returning at 10.00pm. It is offered at £18 per person
This will be Bourton Vale’s first appearance in the Cheltenham Premier T20 Final, and they will be aiming to cap their debut campaign in the competition with silverware.
